Laphroaig Casket for USD 4 ??????????

Went to my local liquor yesterday to buy some Laphroaig 10 year old here in Connecticut,USA - have been paying $43.99 + 6% state sales tax for the last year or so. Lo and behold no caskets of Laphroaig - just bottles for 39.99 + 6%. Am I to beleive that the casket is worth $4? Did some caskets break, is this a new policy of local distributor, or is this the new policy of Laphroaig? The hell with the King of Beer - give me the god of islay

I think, maybe, you mean a "cask", which is a barrel. A "casket" is a coffin.

Or maybe the box that some distillers sell their bottles in?

Never seen one on Laphroaig, but my Glenfarclas 17YO came in a cute hinged wooden box with a brass hasp.

The Laphroig 15 I just brought back from FL comes in a box that opens kinda like a casket. The box opens along the long front face rather than at the top.

BTW - the 15 yo is NICE.
