Whisky tasting

Well, I would say that my first whisky tasting party in the USA went quite well. I tried to sequence the tasting to build to the Ardbeg. Up 'til now, The Glenlivet was the only Scotch that Chris has tasted.

Chris's tasting notes: Chivas Regal - green apple, vanilla. Charcoal barrel finish The Glenlivet - green apple, smoother than the Chivas, lighter barrel Bowmore - barrel (charcoal), earthy, fruity, excellent Aberlour - very good, port, best so far, really like this one Lagavulin - same fragrance as Bowmore, but peaty Ardbeg - this f***er has a lot of f***ing fruit to it when you first nose it. It's not as peaty as Bowmore (he may have meant Lagavulin, as we were feeling no pain by this time) The Glenlivet finishes like Ardbeg [huh?]

I passed out around 8PM and missed the BBQd ribeye steaks! Oh, well.

I think you should try it again another day. Maybe on a better day?

That's my plan! Also to get more of my friends involved. Better day? Believe me, it was a great day. Good friends, good whisky, good converstion, no hangover. ;~/

Nice looking web site you've got there. My miniscule grasp of non-English languages hindered me in knowing exactly what you're saying, but your love of the 'Water of Life' shows through clearly in your choice of graphics.

thx, thx ;-) Well, currently I am working on many pictures to put on the website. I also once had plans for an English version but no time to translate more than 500 pages ;-)

I liked your shot of 'gerste' (barley?) and the interactive map. I really liked 'Steffi mit flask'! A friend of yours? I got a kick out of the Inverness weather report and the stills, and the links are excellent! Perhaps we'll get to do a wee dram or six one of these days.

Slainte!
