I grilled lamb chops last night and found a bottle of 1996 Chateau Lynch Bages in my wine cellar at the farm. The wine was still dark purple with no signs of age as I decanted it. Nose of sweet creme de cassis and graphite. Still quite young on the palate. Lot's of cassis, blackberry, a bit of cedar and stones. The tannins are well resolved but the wine still has years of life left. Still a baby but drinking well. "A"
