1999 Luciano Sandrone Barolo le Vigne

I opened a bottle of 2001 Luciano Sandrone Barolo le Vigne last night with dinner. Fairly dark garnet red in the glass with no visable signs of age. Fairly strong mineral component on the nose with a bit of red berries and typical Barolo rose petal aromas. Powerful onn the palate showing a fair amount of ripe red fruit, anise, a bit of leather and cedar. Seems to cross the line between a modern concentrated style and a traditional tannic style. Plenty of ripeness yet a ton of tannin still hanging in. "B+/A-"
