I opened a bottle of 2000 Drouhin Clos des Mouches last night with grilled D'Artagnan confit duck legs and braised collard greens. The wine was a clear pale red in the glass with a fair amount of brickish cast. Nose of wet mushrooms and sour cherries. A bit thin on the palate with background notes of spicebox and cherries. A significant amount of acid from front to back and the wine seems disjointed lacking enough fruit to balance the acid. maybe a bad bottle but I recall never having a real affinty for this vintage of Clos des Mouches.
