On a recommendation from a friend I drank a bottle of 2004 Angelo Sassetti Pertimali Brunello di Montalcino last night. Angelo is the brother of the more well known Livio Sassetti and apparantly they split the holding in Pertimali. Thwe wine was typical Brunello color with a faint orange hint to the meduim garnet color. Moderate nose of cherries, leaf litter and earth with a bit of herbal sage and tarragon. Medium weight in the glass plenty of deep ripe black cherry and blueberry notes. Gamey finish with lots of earthy minerality and smooth yet frim tannins. Pretty good price for good Brunello at just over $50. "B+/A-"
