I was sifting through a few samples that a friend droped off and I found a bottle of 2008 Mark herold Acha and a bottle of 2008 Decendientes de Jose Palacios Corullon Bierzo in the box...nice.

2008 Mark Herold Acha-blend of Tempranillo, Graciano, Grenache, Carignane, and Petite Syrah. Medium bodied, full throttle, spicy black cherry on a smooth frame. A bit of mineral and black pepper. Plush tannins. Pretty tasty for about $45. "B+"

2008 Descendientes de J. Palacios Bierzo Corullon-100% old vine Mencia grapes. Dark purple in the glass. Blueberry, black raspberry veryy rustic at first but became smooth and supple with air. Meduim bodied with nice acidity and fruit balance. $45. "B+"
