Thanks!!! I've broken three glasses since the last special.
I broke 3 of the smaller reidels (one left), but aside from one Spiegleau arriving broken, I've had no breakage. I'm amazed, is this me being more careful or are they 'tougher" glasses?
If you let your wines age a bit they will become much softer and shouldn't break the glasses.

I'll keep that in mind, but my primary source of breakage is hand washing them after a few glasses of wine and accidentally whacking them against the sink!
I'm horrible with Riedels. I had to stop using my Sommeliers except on special occasions because I have such a talent for breaking the damn things. Last time I busted one it was while gently drying the beautiful Sommelier burgundy glass. I shook it (gently I swear..) to get the water out, and the bowl popped clean off the stem and shattered in the sink. Ouch.
D.
Well,it depends on vintage of course. Even with age, 1986 Bordeaux can still shatter glasses, I drink them from pewter cups.

Our US cousins seem to be pretty heavy-handed, not only in international politics... :-)
Remember, never hold at the stem (only when you drink, of course). Anders
