Anyone tried Bad Dog Red?

Dec 27, 2004 1 Replies

I suppose many dog lovers got this wine for Christmas because of it's name. Information from the wine store web site is below. Anyone else got a chance to try this one? At $12 cdn this was an enjoyable wine. Smooth tannins, not too dry with lots of fruit. Said it should be "lapped" up within three years. Not sure how it would stand up with food but alone it's great!

Happy holidays to all.

13.0% Alcohol/Vol. Sugar Content : 1

Made in: Languedoc, France By: MAUREL VEDEAU S.A.

Tasting Note Deep purple red; aromas of blackberry and spice; dry, light to medium bodied, ripe berry and grapey flavours; good length.

Never had this one, but "Old Dog Red" is an OK quaffer. Since one of my puppies had the kennel name, Bad Dog Alice, I must try and locate a bottle. BTW, her registered name is Billie's Sweet Magnolia Lane - probably the only female anything named for the entrance to Augusta National GC. Note to international subscribers: a golf course in Augusta, GA, USA. It does not allow female members, against tons of protest, so it's a bit of a America- centric "inside joke." Sorry.
