Hi

Just got back from one of my regular visits to NE Spain, but this time I managed to get into the Sant Pau restaurant. The text is a bit long for AFW and the images might help, so apologies if I do not use the NG strictly according to the rules.... I am not plugging any commercial sites, the blog is more of a money drain than anything...... :-)

cheers

It is time to put, does not play fair or nice next to your name! That was one heavenly review and if anything reinforces my belief that if Michelin played fair they would have to give a half to a whole star extra for every restaurant reviewed out of France.

I ate in a little place in Dinat, Belgium that was everything Micheliin said was needed for one star and they didn't even make honorable mention, and yet the meal and especially the soup are still fond memories 12 years later.

We have two places with one star near my place, neither deserve one. There are others that do deserve one and they do not get one. Overall the Red Guide is quite good for hotel ratings, and while their ratings of restaurants are debatable, most good restaurants do get listed.

I loved your review and pictures. The only way I can even remotely connect to these 'foods' is that I watch Jose Andreas' "Made in Spain" even though I was in Madrid and Barcelona, Spain 35 years ago and my only memorable dinner was roast suckling pig.

I didn't know about this blog, so I'm glad you posted the www.

Are there any pictures of you (or even one) that you can send a link for? Thanks again for sharing your wonderful dinner experience. Dee Dee

Thanks for the nice comments. I'm the one on the right in the last photo.

Ah ha! When I looked at that pic, I thought you, on the right, were a chef, as well. Thanks for the I.D. - you look like a fantastic guy. Dee Dee

Thanks for the terrific review Mike. Makes me want to book a flight and make reservation! I must say that I'm not a fan of Sea Cucumber and even that looked good.
