I'm trying to get an idea about better wines. Anyway, a local store has a sale and is offering Didier Dagueneau 1998 Silex for $40 and Pur Sang for $35. Is that a good deal? And are they already past their prime? I was thinking of trying one this weekend with some seafood.

These wines should be in top form. Sauvignon does not come in much better form than in Didier's wines. (at least here in France, right Andrew? OK, we'll see about that later this month... ).
Pouilly Fumé at its very best, specially Pur Sang.
I would be happy to find them here at that price...
