Thanks for the notes. Havens is moving towards top of my list of CA producers, I've liked the Syrah and the Bourriquot a lot.
Mark V. at St. Innocent says he wants his wines to be perceived as showing the terroir of his Oregon vineyards, not as Burgundian, but I agree that in some vintages makes a good ringer.

Dale - do you think the Bourriquot would have been a good bet as a faux Bordeaux?

It's produced as an hommage to Cheval Blanc, which it wouldn't be mistaken for. But it could easily pass for a lesser cabfranc-heavy St. Emilion. Caveat- I've only tasted young versions, though I think the '99 will age. Dale
