Clean and well balanced."

I have not had Jermann's Vintage Tunina from Friuli in a long time. The store I once bought it at has had none for many years, and it was not special enough to me to pay the air delivery fee to order it. I find the last I had was the 1983 several years ago. Then, it was much as you describe the 2000. Chardonnay did dominate. There was something about the fruit that was not quite typical Chardonnay - perhaps the influence of the picolit and/or malvasia. However I do not remember any typical SB herbal character. It probably could pass as a Chardonnay if you did not know it was a blend and from where it came. It was one of the better dry whites from Italy back in the 1980s, but perhaps was of a more international style than most Italian whites back then.
