Mano a Mano 2005

We bought this low-priced spanish wine and drank some this evening.

100% tempranillo, D.O. LaMancha Wine Advocate 89 pts.; Josh Raynolds Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar 89 pts. terrific value.

"Meaty, dense and chewy, this beauty certainly over-delivers for its price point."

I've read "meaty" as a description before, but never experienced it. The minute I tasted it, I knew.

I liked it -- Dee

Hi Dee,

I had a similar experience with Riesling last summer. I was puzzled over descriptions of wines that are off-dry yet have good (or even bracing) acidity. Then I had a St. Urbans-Hof Okfener Bockstein Kabinett and said to myself, "Self, so THAT is what Dale and the others are talking about." It is those sorts of ah-hah moments that make reading this newsgroup and trying new wines so much fun.
