2001 Merryvale Starmont Cabernet - not bad - medium dark colour, ripe and sweet vanilla nose, soft tannins and good balance, pleasant wine that is about ready to drink.
1999 Voss Vineyard Napa Shiraz - smooth, pretty well balanced and ready to drink, if a little uninspiring.
2000 Swanson Napa Merlot - medium colour, not much varietal character, with mostly the usual sweet vanilla in the nose, fairly supple and medium long. OK, but cost effective?
2001 Napa Wine Co. Zinfandel - another simple but pleasant and over priced wine. Although it seems that this could be said about most of the American wines in this market, unfortunately.
