OT: I have been missing here in August because of health problems

The last day of July I developed extreme pain in the back and pelvis area and the worst cramps in all of the left leg that I have ever experienced. I could not walk and live alone. I was able to call th ambulance, call a brother in another state, and crawl to the door to unlock it.I was rushed for a CAT scan in he emergency room and a fracture was soon found.Massive doses of narcotics and powerful steroids reduced the pain and cramps considerably. I will spare you the details.I am now able to be home again using a walker for short times.Sitting very long produces pain. I thus likely will not post here much for a while longer.

The Faqs for this group remain up and my domains are automatically renewed every year. Mark Lipton has copies of the FAQs code in case worst comes to worst.

I have had no interest in wine or food since the problem, likely because of some of the drugs given including 30 ml of long-lasting steroids just before I left the hospital.

I am 76 years old, so recovery likely will not be as fast as when I was 9 years old and had my spine and pelvis fractured in a head-on collision between the school bus I was on and a loaded log truck.

Wow! My most sincere sympathies. Thank you for posting this update, though, as I had just begun to worry about you after seeing no response from you in the "Champagne Cocktail" thread, as sure a piece of bait for you as I can think of. Please accept my wishes for a quick and full recovery, which includes a renewed interest in food and wine.

Best wishes, Mark Lipton

That sounds awful, I am so glad you were able to get help though I am sure that it was harder than it sounds.
