Hi guys
Are "Bin numbers" on Australian labels and "Quality" related? How do I know which Bin No. is of higher quality apart from the price tag?
Thanks Ray

Ray, Most Oz wineries use "bin" names as brand names for their wines. There is no relationship between the number and any quality. Perhaps the most famous example are the Penfolds' bin wines: Bin 389, 407, 707,
28, etc. (Even Grange has a nominal bin number IIRC). If one knows the brand names, one can then say that the Bin 707 is Penfolds' top-flight Cabernet or that Bin 389 is their mid-range Cab-Shiraz blend, but the numbers are just mnemonics.Mark Lipton
