[TN] '08 Indian Creek Pinot Noir

Last night with a roast chicken dinner, we opened a bottle of a wine that Dale recently posted on, made from "declassified" fruit from Navarro:

2008 Indian Creek Pinot Noir nose: smoky, tart raspberry fruit palate: firm acidity, medium-light body

This wine was made from Pinot Noir grapes that survived the Mendocino wildfires of '08. The smoky character came through loud and clear, but wasn't offputting to either Jean or myself. At first, I didn't get much PN character from this wine (it came across more like a hypothetical lightweight Gamay-Syrah blend), but with time the fruit lightened and took on more classic PN characteristics. Fairly light and simple, this is still a good bargain at the $12.50 selling price.
