TN: California Central Coast Pinot

Over to Rob?s for local group, we were outdoors but not too cold. Cheeses, ham, sardines, etc. Theme was Central Coast Pinot Noir. We always do blind, but I don?t know enough about CCPN to make any guesses.

2019 Angel Ink Pinot Noir (Central Coast) Light, almost Gamay like,a little cherry cola note touch sweet, B-

2008 Rhys Alpine Vineyard Pinot Noir (Santa Cruz Mountains) Much more complete than others, brambly fruit with forest floor and coffee, good acids, still some tannic structure, no hurry here, B+/A-

2018 Calera Pinot Noir (Central Coast) Quite light, approaching dilute, didn?t expect this in a CA tasting. Straightforward cherry and plum fruit, B-/C+

2017 Calera Pinot Noir (Central Coast) I didn?t guess this was same wine. Richer, ripe, more what I expect from CA PN, decent length. B/B-

2019 Folly of the Beast Pinot Noir (Santa Rita Hills) Highest acid, juicy, some green notes though thoroughly ripe, B/B+

Fun night with good friends. Wines weren't what I expected

Grade disclaimer: I'm a very easy grader, basically A is an excellent wine, B a good wine, C drinkable. Anything below C means I wouldn't drink at a party where it was only choice.Furthermore, I offer no promises of objectivity, accuracy, and certainly not of consistency.
