I knew that Riojas could be layed down for some time, but I never thought that they gain that much through this time. Optic: ruby with clay reflections. The nose is ripe fruit, slightly furry, maybe wet oak. Palate is pretty complex: fine herbs, overripe apricots, rather medium/thin body, maybe some cassis. Finish is not too long. Delicate acid. Tried this one with rather unusual food for Rioja: catfish fillet with herbs de provence-honey-giant white beans sauce, and - it worked really fine.
