TN: 2000 Lafarge Volnay VS

I was wiped out after a long day yesterday, had a quiet night with a couple of books, the dog, some D'Artagnan chicken and wild mushroom sausages, and the 2000 Michel Lafarge"Vendanges Selectionnees" Volnay. More pretty than powerful, beautful black cherry fruit with accents of sandalwood and spice. Tannins are resolved, acidity is fairly low for a Lafarge. Seems to pick up weight through evening. Very approachable now, but don't think there's any danger of this falling apart anytime soon. Lovely wine, A-

Grade disclaimer: I'm a very easy grader, basically A is an excellent wine, B a good wine, C mediocre. Anything below C means I wouldn't drink at a party where it was only choice. Furthermore, I offer no promises of objectivity, accuracy, and certainly not of consistency.
