TN: 2007 Roulot Bourgogne

Betsy made an escarole soup, then added scrod to poach. All served with the 2007 Guy Roulot Bourgogne Blanc. Pretty apple fruit accented by lemon-lime citrus notes, a little hazelnut, lively acids. Nice midweight Chardonnay, hint of oak, a bit of chalky mineraility. Very very nice for level. B+

Grade disclaimer: I'm a very easy grader, basically A is an excellent wine, B a good wine, C mediocre. Anything below C means I wouldn't drink at a party where it was only choice. Furthermore, I offer no promises of objectivity, accuracy, and certainly not of consistency.

I've always enjoyed Guy Roulet wines and just picked up a couple bottles of this wine from Zachys and haven't tried one yet.. Thanks for the note.
