TN: Holiday wines

just wanted to post a few of the holiday wines (xmas and new years)

LaTour 1979 - Very red purple color no browning or brick at all. Typical Bordeaux nose of cedar, lead pencil and cassias. excellent fruit and balance. extremely smooth in the mouth . disappointing finish not much left there

Heitz 1975 Fay vineyard Great fruit- nose of cedar and pencil lead, sweet fruit in the mouth very balanced and smooth, slight weedy finish with hit of heat from alcohol. Also a hit of eucalyptus in the nose and mouth - although not like Martha's. very nice wine given its age and standard thinking of cal cabs not aging well

1986 Guiraud (375ml)

light yellow lots of botrytis in the nose. Peach and nectarine in both the nose and flavors, still allot of acid to balance the fruit, a lot of honey fruit flavors in the mouth and finish. Still a very young wine
