Wine Tours of Northern Italy - Please Advise

I am thinking about doing a wine tour of northern Italy in late May of

2006. I am very new to this and was wondering if anyone could suggest either specific tours or web sites that could give me some insight on how best to approach this idea. Are there any winery tours that are combined with museum or scene tours of the area? Please advise.

Thank you in advance for your insight and perspective!!

Northern Italy is a varied and wide-reaching area. How long are you planning on staying and which wine regions do you want to visit? Piedmont, Trentino-South Tyrol, Lombardy, Veneto, Friuli?

Not all winemakers want hordes of stupid Americans stomping through their vineyards and snooping around.

This kind of shit makes me sick....

Well up to your usual standards of courtesy and intelligence Mr Scarpitti.

I thought I'd "unkillfile" you to see if you'd learnt something in the last

6 months. I see you haven't. Maybe you'll grow up next year.

What are you talking about. We may be stupid, but we're still very special. We might even buy something, if you can prove that you're special too, and let us taste a lot of expensive wine.

In response to that well known cretin, Michael Scarpitti (a.k.a. "uraniumbrain"), "gerald" wrote..................

Gerald, if this was written by any of the numerous international correspondents who frequent this n.g. you may have a reason to be upset.

But, the reality is, that the poster of this dribble, Michael Scarpitti, lives in Columbus, Ohio.

Now you can really get mad!!!!!!!!!
