Hi ...something tells me to get started on this early.Does anyone know of any growers in Nova Scotia,Quebec or Ontario who sell fresh grapes to the home winemaker? I bought california grapes last fall but would prefer to buy "local"....Red wine grapes are my main interest.....of course price is a consideration as well as shipping costs as I live in New Brunswick....Andy J.

Rumour has in in my area (New Zealand) that wineries allow people to hand-pick after the mechanical pickers have been through. There would seem to be some truth in the rumours because a few years back I was a

2nd-hand recipient of some grapes, but at the moment I'm still trying to find a source to the season about to start.

I drive past vineyards everyday so I'm ideally situated. And I fod 2 buckest off my own vine last weekend, which is a table grape type rather than a wine grape.

There are vineyards in Nova Scotia, that is where I would look to first, shipping from Ontario would be expensive unless you can team up with some other vintner's to split costs.

Best I can do is this page from the Amateur Winemakers of Ontario website.

It might be outdated and you would have to check to see if they ship, these might be for local pickup only.
