Does anyone know how I can get rid of or change the size of my name in OE?

not to be rude, try something like Xnews which is for actual newsgroup reading, you have more control over things specific to usenet. OE is an email client by design.

another good one is Free agent if you're thinking cheap.

If you mean how to get rid of the all caps, go to the Tools menu, then Accounts, then Properties. You should see some user info fields and one of them is your name which you can change to anything you want, like "Bill Gates".

I don't get the fuss over using OE for reading news, it works fine for me and I'm certainly not a Microsoft fan.

I am just testing to see if it workks. Thanks.

I have tried downloading Free Agent, Xana News, X News and Tera News and cannot get any of them to work once they are properly donloaded.

Yea, those suck unless you've got some sort of anti-microsoft angle working. OE is all most people need really.

Not to state the obvious, have you installed any of them?

Sure, because it works so well on non-Microsoft platforms. Never mind that I've gotten plenty of non-M$ stuff, like the newsreaders mentioned above, to work just fine on a Windoze platform, and that those news- readers are Usenet-standard-posting compliant. Hevvins to betsy, I'm using a non-M$ newsreader even now! Mercy forbid!

Heh, "M$" and "windoze", that's clever. Did you make that up yourself?

Whatever I made up, it's obvious that you're hard at work being a dipshit.
