A Good Yorkshire Beer

On Sunday 23rd April I went to a beer festival at The Sultan, London SW19. It is SL CAMRA's Pub of the year. I had many good beers there. But one stood out: Nettle Thrasher, 4.4% from Elland Brewery in Yorkshire. One of the best beers I've had this sixmonth. Has anyone else here tried it?

No, I've not come across that one. But if it's as good as their 1872 Porter, it will be phenomenal. My Beer of the Year so far is the 1872, in the Ale Station micropub in Chorley, Lancs.

Not lately, though I'm sure they can be found somewhere around Manchester. I last tried Tiny Rebel in their Cardiff pub.

I've seen them in The Salopian in Shrewsbury. They erm command a premium.

It's not as good as it used to be IMO - they've changed the recipe sometime in the past few months. But it's still good.

Elland are a good brewery, I know the owner as he lives just down the road and is a member of a club I do the beer ordering for.

A number of their recent specials have been good too.

Elland have also recently started doing limited specials in wood.
