The Hawley Arms (Camden)

Did this pub have real ale or was it keg only? It's never been in the Good Beer Guide

beerintheevening doesn't have a proper review, so not much help there

- Razorlight used to eat lasagne, if that's any help & I'm guessing Amy used to drink the house-wine?

To those not in the know, the pub has been destroyed/mildly damaged (depending on which reports you read) by fire on Sat night. It is/was a haunt of several young & hip musician/singers, comedians, etc.

For an Indie piece from the pub's happier days (Aug'07) see here -

after a wee google, one reviewer, Phil C said "Apparently this is where Wino drinks these days, and if she's as big a fan of real ale as I am, I can see why." -

The message from snipped-for-privacy@hotmail.com (Dave) contains these words:

I seem to remember it having a selection of real ales when I last visited, alas, that was in 1975!

I since found some pictures of the inside before the fire. Looks like there were 3 real ales, one of them Greene King.

of the other 2 1 was chalked IPA (I may be out on a limb here, but I'm guessing GK IPA) and the other looks triangular, I'm guessing GK Triumph.

Should have added that in one of this evenings free papers, the landlady says it should re-open in 6 months.

My daughter, who lives in Camden, says she thinksit was Adnams and L Pride - though what would a bottle/keg cider drinker know?
