AFAIK as long as you are brewing only enough to be considered personal use
(i.e. not for resale) you can brew to your hearts content. but distilling
spirits is not legal in most states. for what it's worth I am a police
officer in CA.

Seems to me, its 100 gals individual, 200 gals household, personal use
only, in most states (Ca included).  This was adopted from Fed
guideline.  But I'm considering retirement, which likely excludes Ca.,
and I can't remember what I've read about our neighboring states.  For
example I don't think NV, ever approved it.  At any rate the only
difference it will really make is whether I brag about my last batch
or not. For what its worth, me too, CDC.

I think you are thinking of this site:
    http://www.aob.org/homebrewing/legal.html
However, although it is referenced, I couldn't find a link
to the state listing anymore....  ???
