What's your tea resolution?

What is your tea resolution for 2004? Mine is to drink more tea, and to learn more about 'show teas' (I like the ones that come in odd shapes). I want to explore Japanese teas more.

I started the New Year early by going to an exhibit of Japanese teaware at the Metropolitan Museum of art. If anyone here is a fan of Oribe-style teaware or the Japanese tea ceremony, you need to see this exhibit. It's very informative. While you won't be able to hop over to Toraya for a quick bite and some wagashi (it has, unfortunately, closed but hopes to reopen in the near future), you can always go to the Mark Hotel for tea, or get on the bus and stop off at Rockefeller Center to visit Minomoto Kitchoan.

WOW, thanks. I would've missed the Met exhibit cause I don't keep up anymore.

I've resolved to make no resolutions to break this year. I will however be exploring tea varietals and their associated teas and tastes.

Love your tag thing from the Wizard of Oz.

Mine is to drink about the same amount, but I'll aim to find and drink more bang-for-the-buck teas -- those that don't cost a fortune but give a lot of satisfaction for little money.

I shudder to think how much I've spent on tea over the past year, and would be scared to go back and actually add it all up!

Of course, over that time, my tastes in tea have changed for the better, and I have been introduced to many fine, more expensive teas. I'm grateful for this, of course, and one can't put a price on that experience.

Mine has been to find a tea source here in Italy. I finally found what I think is going to be a decent shop right here in Bologna. I'm hoping to go visit it tomorrow and pick up some decent teas finally...
