Beer in France?

I've not been terribly knocked out by the French beers I've had, but biere de garde can be nice--Jenlain, la Bavaisienne, etc.

Thanks for the link. It doesn't look good though - 4 places in Paris and none of the other towns listed :-) I did try some brews from a micro in Nantes once though - they were pretty good. I think it was called La Soif.

In Paris, the Belgian-owned L'Académie de la Bière is very much worth a visit. It's at 88-bis Boul. de Port-Royal, near the Port-Royal Metro station.

They have a wide international tap and bottle selection, with a specialization in Belgian artisanal beers. We San Franciscans are inevitably reminded of our beloved Toronado.
