Kegerator questions

Oct 16, 2005 3 Replies

Hey,

So I finally built a kegerator which had it's maiden voyage last night. Still about 1/2 full so I have a few questions on storage etc. What is the ideal temp? Is it better to pull off a few growlers and then untap the keg and clean out the lines. Then just hook it up every few days? The tap is fitted thru the fridge door, everything else is inside. Can it stay this way between daily use or is it best to clean the lines every night?

Thanks

Nick..

If you still have beer in the keg and line, there's no reason to disconnect and clean (except maybe every now and then). Leave it hooked up.

Thanks Phil, I'm still kinda new to this and having fun with pressure balancing and the like and am real glad I don't have to mess with the pipes every few days.

If your keg runs out and the lines go dry, then you should clean them. Otherwise, once every month or two is fine.
