Local Boston Beers?

Going to Boston over the weekend, staying near Durgan Park (Faniel Hall area) and may have time to do a short tasting. Any suggestions for beers I won't find outside Boston?

Boston Beer Works, near Fenway Park, is a good brewpub.

If you are going to be near Faneuil Hall, the Canal Street location by North Station is closer (i.e. walking distance). The Fenway location this weekend should be packed as the Yankees will be in town for a 4 games series against the Sox.

Another place you should consider checking out is Cambridge Brewing Company, across the river, not surprisingly, in Cambridge. Its easy to get to as its a couple of blocks from the Kendall/MIT T station. If you were only to get to one place, this is what I would recommend in the Boston area for brewpubs.

Other beers you might want to keep and eye out for are those from (in no particular order) Mercury (most sold under Ipswich label), Thomas Hooker, Gritty McDuffs, Sixpoint, Offshore, Berkshire, Wachusett, and Otter Creek.

Regional brews, not strictly limited to Boston itself. I don't know how wide the distribution is on these, so you may have seen some of them elsewhere:

Tremont Paper City Wachuset Grity McDuff's

And don't forget the brewpubs. IMO, one of the best is over in North Station: Boston Beer Works.

It's my annaversary, and I'm a rabid Yankee fan, but I have no hope that my wife will "take me out to the ball game."

Thank you one and all for the suggestions. Some time this fall we (family) are talking about a Mercury weekend. If you look at their web site, they brew house beers for a lot of places. We thought we'd try as many as possible.

I first heard about them from the owner's father-in-law, who used to be in a tech support chat room I visit.
