I paid my first visit to the Standard Tap in Northern Liberties section of Philadelphia. Great selection of beers on tap with two - Yards ESA and Victory Hop Devil - dispensed by hand pumps. No Miller, Bud or Coors and the only nod to an established USA brewery is that they had Yeungling Lager on tap.
The menu was terrific, calamari, whole black bass, octupus and a great lamb sandwich.
The only caveats is that the service is so-so and later in the evening when the juke box rules the noise level is absolutely deafening so much so that I could feel the bar surface vibrating! Still, an eclectic mix on the juke box and the other patrons seemed to enjoy the music and the decibel level.
