Actually, the wheat beer brewed at Newport, Kentucky's new Hofbrauhaus brew pub is the best I've tasted... but then, I'm not much into the type.
As a matter of fact, I have one in front of me now (from the Saranac sampler pack), and my official opinion is... yeah, it's wheat beer.

Good question.
Franziskaner hefe-weisse is my current favourite.
I had three on draught at the Yard House last weekend before my wife made me leave.
