Belgium: Westmalle Dubbel on draught

Just back from a brief holiday in Belgium.

Anyone interested in good draught beers in Belgium, add Westmalle Dubbel to your list. It was consistently good in Gent [2 places], Antwerp and Belgium.

Other points: De Koninck was pretty good on the whole in Gent, except in one tourist restaurant on a red hot day where it tasted distinctly vinegary. Also, the much-maligned Leffe was good and was very refreshing when sat out in the sunshine in Gent. Same for Rodenbach.

I tried some of the bottled "trippels" -- Orval, Augustijn, Chimay White but found they were too stodgy for my tastes.

Duvel seemed very popular, both with locals and tourists. Any many locals just stick to pils...
