This Friday I'm off to Bulgaria for a week, calling in at Sofiya, Veliko Tarnovo, Varna, Plovdiv, and Bansko.
Does anyone know if there is any hope of us finding any interesting local beers over there, or is it likely to be a land of generic fizzy pilsner? Are there perhaps some dark beers, of the sort found in Croatia/Slovenia?
(No doubt there will be the inevitable plastic Irish pubs, filled with the sort of Britons who make us pretend to be Canadian/Dutch/martian/anyhing!)
