CAMRA taken over by Speed CAMERAs?

I have, for the last 2 years, run a website for my local (Northamptonshire) branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA). I don't have a beard, or wear sandals, I just like the taste of Real Ale and know a bit about HTML and PHP. Anyway, the site is named (appropriately) Northants CAMRA.

I have recently found out that the local Safety Camera Association (speed cameras by any other name) have registered the name Northants CAMERA and have applied to my service provider to take over the URL. I didn't even get an e-mail or a phone call. They could have been reasonable, even asked for a "disambiguation" link on the homepage, but no.



tl;dr - someone nicked my domain name.

Quite apart from being obnoxiously stupid by the camera people (wtf do they want a mispeeled sitename, anyway ?) I'd think that's rather bad behaviour by the ISP, and a good reason to not give them business. Who are they ?

Good one. If it was an April Fool's joke then I fell for it! I was quite indignant that someone had gazumped you.
