The Pubs of Oxford

Mar 23, 2010 3 Replies

I've been working on a website that lists the opening times (and a few other crucial bits of info) of pubs in and around Oxford. I wrote it mainly as a way of deciding which pub to go to, but hopefully some of you will find it useful in some way too.

There's a handful of pubs already on there, but if anyone has details of pubs I've missed then please do send them to me and I'll add them to the database. Likewise, if you have any suggestions please send them my way.

Bottoms up!

Very good! I wish I could do that. I particularly like the postcodes; very useful for finding out of the way pubs.

I hope you will include the Bookbinders (in Jericho, near the canal) and the Watermans Arms (Osney Island, by the river). I'm afraid I can't tell you their opening times. You may be able to persuade me to do some research.

You include my local, The Fishes. Unfortunately, it's not really a pub anymore, it's a gastropub, and not one you would just go to for a pint or two.

Nick

The Bookbinders is already there, albeit under "Old Bookbinders". If you are able to find out the opening times for the Watermans Arms, then I'll be more than happy to include.

It was quite hard trying to decide where to draw the lines for including pubs. Should gastropubs count? What about bars? And ...? In the end, I decided to include gastropubs. "Fake" pubs as they may be.

James
