An own brew pub (plus guests) in Saddleworth - the bit of the West Riding of Yorkshire which was railroaded into Oldham MBC in 1974.
We had a meal there today. The beer is superb, and most are an extraordinary £1.20 a pint. The mild (3.8 ABV) was astonishing, and more like a porter. (The porter - 4.0 ABV - was very much like the mild but somewhat less intense.)
However do they really need all that fancy electronic stuff for swiping a barcode for "half a mild"? This is supposed to be a traditional pub. Surely it's easier just to add £1.20 to 65p and ring it into the till. And it doesn't help when you are kept waiting for 5 minutes because the chap in front trying to pay for his meal is getting "error 7" from the gizmo which is supposed to read the meals ordered from the smart card and display the total payable!
Don't get me going about the food service. Let's just say that it took us over 2 hours...
