Davenports

After trying a drinkable? pint of Davenports bitter at Weatherspoons yesterday I just tried to Google who was brewing it these days. There are references to Highgate & Aston Manor but no reference on the brewery sites. Just curiosity but who does brew it nowadays? TIA

I presume that was the 4.5% Premium I had last night. Highgate now own the Davenports name and the cask is brewed at Highgate (Aston Manor is keg only).

It was a guest in my local Fullers pub recently.

I had a bottle (non BCA) of this recently - 4.0 % ABV, brewed by Highgate.

OK but not particularly memorable.

There's an "ordinary" Davenports at 4%. I found the Premium to be significantly better.
