Fullers have bought the Head of Steam chain.

So that means Fullers beer (yawn), carpets and pre-packed Brake Bros. food.

At Least is wasn't Youngs I suppose.

Really?

I thought it was just the one at Euston that had been sold to Fullers.

Mixed feelings about this (as a user of the one at London Euston) ...

- Sad that the range of Beers and Ciders will probably decrease.

- Glad that the erm...environment...will probably improve.

Swings and Roundabouts...

As my folks live in Islington the Head of Steam is one place I always visit on a return to the UK. Was there recently and fell asleep due to jet-lag :-) Will drop in and look it over the next time I can afford to step on a plane :-)

Correct, it's only the London one. The name has been changed to the Doric Arch at the request of the Head of Steam group owner. As I understand it, the range is now 4 Fuller's beers plus 6 guests.

Still haven't been in post-takeover. Must rectify that soon.

It still seemed to be called the Head of Steam last Saturday, with no sign of a name change in effect.

IIRC, some new Fullers-branded frosty windows had been fitted, and I think these actually said 'Head of Steam' on them too.

Curiouser and curiouser. The article in The Publican and the article in this month's What's Brewing both referred to the name change. Something to do with the architecture of Euston Station, apparently.

Well I've finally got around to popping into the Head of Steam at Euston, and it's still called the Head of Steam. Seems pretty similar to last time I went in, although that was a fair few months ago. Nine beers on - 3 Fuller's plus 6 guests including Summer Lightning, a Dark Star, Adnams Regatta, Gales HSB, Holts Bitter.

Still woprth a visit by the looks of it. Must get in more regularly - I work about 5 minutes walk away.
