Kew Brew

Another big up for Young's Kew Brew - had a bottle last night and it was one of the best bottled bitters i've had for some time. And some of the proceeds go to protecting plantlife....

I was in a Young's pub at lunchtime today but I don't remember seeing that one or I might have tried it.

I did have a bottle of Champion, though, and it was very enjoyable - not that full in flavour but zingy and refreshing. In fact, I thought it tasted almost like a wheat beer.

Also had a bottle of Double Chocolate Stout. All the girls wanted to have a taste because of the chocolate, and most of them actually quite liked it.

Nothing beats a pint of Special, though.

Try it on draught if you can, the effect's richer and more chocolatey. I keep bottles of it at home all the time in case of sudden need.

Does anyone know if Champion is going to continue to be available? I used to buy it in Tesco where it was marked as being a winner of the Tesco Bottled Beer Competition. This year's winners are now in store (Joey Holts' Humdinger and Cynful from a brewery on Guernsey) and Champion appears to have vanished.

Since I really liked Chapion, does anyone know whether it will continue to be available and where I might get some?

Cheers,

Martin

Are you in London? Young's pubs sell it in bottles to drink there or take away. I don't know anything about future availability, though - it would be a shame if it were to be discontinued.
