My friend who is currently attending the Siebel Institute in Chicago has said he's heard of a good brewing school in London. I've Googled around but can't come up with anything. Is it true and where can I find a list of brewing schools in the UK?
Cheers

To partly answer my own question, I finally found:
Heriot-Watt University The International Centre for Brewing and Distilling
Now to continue my search.

Birmingham used to cover brewing - don't know whether they still do.

Hi Wayne
Have a look at
They do a range of brewing courses from one-day home-brewing techniques to full residential courses for professional brewers.
They are based at Sunderland University and whilst this is in the North East of England I know they (or at least they did a couple of years ago) also hold courses in London, so they could well be the one your friend means.
I am a home brewer doing it the "proper" way using all grain in a mash tun (I even mill my own grain) and went on a Brewlab one day basic "Craft Brewing techniques" course three years ago. The cost was £35 (around $60) and (briefly) covered most of the practice and theory behind the brewing process. The price also included a thick printed handout covering the brewing process, a free analysis of your own homebrew plus a free sample of a Brewlab yeast of your choice (and a couple of bottles of their own beer with lunch). I learned a lot even on the one-day course so definitely regard it as money well spent.

Hi KGB,
This is exactly the kind of information I was looking for, thanks! I could never afford the time or cost of the kind of course my friend is doing at Siebel (Mostly at Goose Island Brewery) This would be ideal for me. Right, now all I have to do is cut down on drinking and save up for the flight over, somewhere to sleep and the course!
/me looks through drawer to see if passport is still valid.....
