Supply of casks and beer engines

one of the firms on the list - Alumasc, have stopped making casks/kegs altogether, according to their own website (apparently making mini car parts & heineken/fosters/kronenbourg fonts is more profitable!). see

seems a bit odd that there's been a fair few brewery closures in recent times & yet there's a shortage of old casks to recon; while concurrently there's loads of (small) brewery start-ups & yet cask manufacturers are getting out of the sector!

Looks like MaisonNeuve might be the only choice & as prev mentioned they're french :~) they do have a UK base for sales, but I'm fairly sure their *41 litre* firkins are French-made.
