Where is Theakston's brewed?

Agreed it is great beer. What evidence does Paul Rigg have that Tiger Rut is watered down True Grit?

I think if you read the posts, Mr Rigg never said that Tiger Rut was watered down True Grit. That was an assumption by a later poster. He actually said "My local now sells a house beer which is watered down Millstone True Grit."

I don't know the brew or pub he's talking about, but perhaps it's a 'house beer' that Millstone are brewing for a pub.

And of course there's Gut Trier, Trite Rug, and for Paul Rigg, Utter Rig. OK missing a 'g', but what's a 'g' between friends?

Its a separate brew-thats why I asked if it was Tiger Rut as they haven't mentioned doing any other versions of this . However, if it is a house beer, I could make enquiries as to its nature.

Never said it was Tiger Rut and it isn't. Its a special house brew for the pub in question.

I lived in York for five years & there seems to be a school of though amongst JS drinkers, That they have been drinking it for 30 years why change, I have found the same loyalty amongst Black sheep drinkers too.

but IMO a major difference between the 2 is that BlackSheep is a decent beer (with the normal caveat of it being kept well). cheers MikeMcG
