White Shield

I see from yesterday's Guardian that White Shield won champion bottled beer at the GBBF - but where can one buy it these days? I don't think I've seen it in an off licence or supermarket for a long time.

Tesco's (at least in Tenterden) had it recently. So did Booth's. I bought a dozen bottles to cellar - tastes even better after a year.

Worthingtons? That is a bit of a blast from the past surely. White Shield is brewed by what was the Bass Museum in Burton. It is now owned by Coors, however as far as I know, the museum is still the producer of White Shield. Think it is called a heritage centre now.

Ah, googled and just found it, you can buy it here

Saw some in a branch of Waitrose the other day - it's been repackaged since I last saw it, with a flashy new label.
