Ye Jolly Farmers in Dalton

Just back from 2 weeks in Yorks. Found a great pub in Dalton near Thirsk, Ye Jolly Farmers of Olden Times. Landlord seems always to have at least four "guest" ales on the hand pump. We enjoyed a Dark Mild and, best of all, Orkney Brewery's Dark Island. Also on were a Bateman's bitter and another medium light bitter. (Because we prefer the darker, more flavorful beers, we did not try these later two.)

The food was also great. Best of all were the onion rings made with real, whole onion rings (not onion batter) dipped in a batter made with real ale. Yum! The steaks were rare and nicely grilled.
