Anyone taste the Red Stripe beer?

I've not seen it here in Denver but I read that it's very strong stuff.

Then you're reading some bad sources. Red Stripe is the same sort of bland fizzy yellow lager that's brewed by Coors, Anheuser-Busch, Heineken, Carlsberg, Stella Artois, Corona, etc. Like all of those, Red Stripe clocks in around 5 percent abv, give or take a few tenths.

Would this be the same source that says that dark bock beers are made from the remains in the bottom of the vat?

Oh, Guess

The beer (as imported into the US) is nothing special, but a friend who has spent much time in Jamaica says that there the "Red Stripe Truck" is something of an institution. The trucks which deliver throughout the island have a very distinctive horn, and the inhabitants of small villages on the highway listen carefully for its sound. As soon as the villagers hear the horn in the distance there is a mad scamble to get the children, dogs, goats, etc. OUT of the road, since 'Red Stripe stops for nothing'. Moments later, the truck roars through the villlage at ~70 mph, usually with the driver quaffing a Red Stripe as he blasts down the road. After which, life in the village returns to normal (until the next Red Stripe Truck comes through).
