gillespie's malt stout

Nov 01, 2003 3 Replies

I know ths question has probably been asked tones of times before, but does anybody in here know where one can get Gillespie's sout in Germany?? I heard they were out of business, but then some-one told me that it still exists somewhere. Where can it be had in this country?

if you could answer me by email I would appreciate it as I seldom come around here...

From Berlin greetings, yors Malte

I suspect, nowhere. I haven't seen it for about ten years even in Britain. It seems to have been a short-lived brand which the S&N bean-counters rapidly pulled from sale to make room for more Kronenbourg taps.

Yes, IIRC S&N launched it to compete with Guinness. It lasted for maybe 5 years, but AFAIK it's long gone - unless it's still marketed in Scotland?

Best regards, Paul

I haven't seen it in it's home town of Edinburgh for many a year. S&N did buy Beamish so perhaps 2 stouts was one too many.... not that you see much beamish here either.
